You Messed With the Right One!

For indeed, as the Lord God of Israel lives, who has kept me back from hurting you, unless you had hurried and come to meet me, surely by morning light no males would have been left to Nabal!

You are the right one for the job! You are! Things may be hard right now. Perhaps, your marriage is challenging or your husband is cold and distant, but you are still the right one for the job.

YOU!

YES, YOU!

Challenges in marriage are not new. They have happened for as long as marriage has been an institution. You aren’t the first to experience challenges, and you won’t be the last. What makes the difference is how you experience the challenge.

I’m sure you think “but you don’t understand my challenges” or “your husband isn’t like my husband”. Baby, I do. I have said those same words. I’ve felt frustrated, rejected, and abandoned IN marriage. I’ve been to very low places, and somehow God brought me and John back from them. As I reflect, one of the wives from the bible that comforted me was Abigail.

Read the account for yourself in 1 Samuel 25, but I’ll summarize by saying that Abigail was married to a fool. Yep, a whole fool. His name literally meant fool, and long story short, he made decisions that put their whole family in harms way. He was stubborn, prideful, and selfish.

So, Abigail had choices. She could fuss and fight with this fool, or she could do what was in her power to do. She chose the latter. She actually went out of her way to intercede for her husband knowing that in covering him she was saving others.

Can you muster that same strength? Can you pray instead of fussing and fighting? Can you intercede for your husband? Can you pray and leave the results to God.

Because if you can, you are showing that you are the right one! I assure you, if you are facing strenuous opposition, God knows that there is greatness in you that can face and overcome this challenge.

Sis, you are the right one! You have the wisdom, the grace, and the favor to do whatever God is telling you to do. You can handle this. You can overcome this! You will look back on this and see that God was working the whole time.

Just go ahead and declare to the enemy today, “You messed with the right one”!
