An Unbreakable Marriage!

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

-James 1:12

Everyone wants an unbreakable marriage, right? We want the marriage that stands the test of time and comes out on the other side stronger, better, and more powerful because of it. We want to be the couple that celebrates 50, 60, 70 years of marriage. I mean, who doesn’t want that?

In order to have an unbreakable marriage, though, you have to survive the things that come to break you. That means that you have to weather the storms, internal and external, that come to destroy your love, your faithfulness, and even your ability to care.

Everyone wants an unbreakable marriage, but not everyone wants to do what it takes to have one.

If you want an unbreakable marriage, you will have to make decisions for your marriage and not just for yourself. You will have to do some internal work so that you are governed by your faith and not your feelings. You will have to set boundaries and have hard conversations. At times you will have to sacrifice some things knowing that you will get so much more in return.

You can have an unbreakable marriage, but it won’t happen over night. It will take daily decisions and lots of humility. It will take prioritizing God and His word above everything else.

You can have an unbreakable marriage, but it will take love - not that surface emotional feeling that we quantify as love. Real love is comprised of action, choices, and commitment.

You can have an unbreakable marriage, but it will take two people who are willing to prioritize their marriage.

You can definitely have an unbreakable marriage. You just have to thrive through whatever comes to break you!

Will you have an unbreakable marriage?
